Guidelines for Article Submission to ASEJ and for Reviewers

The objective of the Science Council (SC) is to promote science education in Alberta's schools through constant improvement in the quality of science instruction. The Alberta Science Education Journal aims to meet this objective by disseminating current research in science pedagogy and praxis. This journal provides a venue for established and emerging scholars, professionals and educational experts in and out of schools to share best practice while critically examining issues of importance in the realm of science education.

Article Submission Details:

The Alberta Science Education Journal welcomes article submissions for the Winter 2022 issues by March 19th, 2021, relating to the following theme(s): 

  • Computer Modelling and Science
  • Problem Based Learning
  • Urban/rural science education
  • Science pedagogy (general)
  • Science, Technology, Society and the Environment
  • Science, Pop Culture and the Classroom
  • Racism in Science
  • Anti-Racism and Science

All articles will undergo a blind peer review process

Requirements for all articles:

  • Article Title
  • Author(s) Bio (50 words or less per author) including: Name, Institution, Title and Areas of Interest
  • Abstract: (100 words)
  • Details: Up to ~5000 words, including references, notes and captions, or ~5-6 printed pages, double spaced, Times News Roman font size 12.

Article Reviewer Details:

The Alberta Science Education Journal requests reviewers for reviewing the submitted articles. Reviewers will review no more than 2 articles at a time.
