Question: How do I join the ATA Science Council?
Answer: Once you are logged in, look under the title Your ATA Tools, on the right hand side of this page and choose Specialist Council Membership.
Question: What are the fees?
Answer:
- Regular: FREE, if the Science Council is the first specialist council in which you register; $35.00 for the year if it is the second specialist council in which you register
- Student: FREE
Question: Do I have to be a regular member of the ATA to join the ATASC?
Answer: No. Although you have to be a member of the ATA to be a regular member of the Science Council, ATASC memberships are available to Associate members of ATA and Student members of ATA.

Question: What services does the Science Council provide to its members?
Answer: The ATA's specialist councils were created to foster the professional development of teachers with common interests in curriculum areas. Opportunities include:
- sharing ideas with other science teachers
- attend the annual conference
- receive "The Alberta Science Teacher" and "The Alberta Science Education Journal" publications
- attend workshops and seminars organized by the science council
- become a part of the Science Council Executive
- access the special "Protected Areas" of our website, where a variety of teacher resources are available
