The Science Council executive is comprised by the following positions.
Elected Positions

President
|
You are responsible for: the effective functioning of the Executive, establishing long range policy and goals, calling and chairing meetings, appointing committees, attending all meetings on behalf of ATASC, and preparing an annual report for Barnett House.

Vice-President |
You are responsible for: Assisting the President as required, maintain the Science Council Handbook, assist in the establishment of long-range policies and goals and serve on the budget committee. |
Secretary
|
You are responsible for: recording the minutes of ATASC related meetings, ensuring yearly records are placed in the archives and maintaining communication with Barnett House regarding ATASC meetings.
|
Treasurer |
You are responsible for: receiving, recording and reporting to the Executive on all monies received and dispersed by the Council, serve on the budget committee, and prepare a budget for the AGM. |
Communications
|
You are responsible for: maintaining communication with Barnett House regarding technology, managing distribution of the Council publications and communications, providing two articles to the editors and, acting as the CASL officer.
|
Conference Director
|
You are responsible for: organizing the yearly ATASC conference, including booking venue, speakers, sponsorships, exhibits as well as maintaining a conference budget - with assistance from the Executive. Be familiar with the job description in the Conference Handbook.

Assistant Conference Director
|
You are responsible for: acting in the Conference Director’s stead, being the AV coordinator at the annual conference and other jobs as assigned by the Conference Director. Be familiar with the job description in the Conference Handbook.

Elementary Director
|
You are responsible for: keeping informed about curriculum changes, recruiting presenters for the annual conference, assisting at the annual conference, serving as liaison in providing quality elementary Science PD and, supplying two articles to the editors.

Division 3 Director
|
You are responsible for: keeping informed about curriculum changes, recruiting presenters for the annual conference, assisting at the annual conference, serving as liaison in providing quality Division 3 Science PD and, supplying two articles to the editors.

Division 4 Director
|
You are responsible for: keeping informed about curriculum changes, recruiting presenters for the annual conference, assisting at the annual conference, serving as liaison in providing quality Division 4 Science PD and, supplying two articles to the editors.

Appointed Positions
- External Relations - appointed by a majority of the executive
- Editor, The Alberta Science Teacher, appointed by a majority vote of the executive
- Editor, Alberta Science Education, appointed by a majority vote of the executive
- ATA Staff Advisor, appointed by Provincial Executive Council, ATA
- Alberta Education Representative (non-voting), appointed by Alberta Education
- PEC Liaison Representative (non-voting), appointed by Provincial Executive Council
